Rummage Sale at St Patrick’s in Lake Forest for the benefit of House of Peace
St Patrick’s Church held its first ever Rummage Sale, and it was a huge success!
We had a small window for the sale as we had to fit it in after the Summer Religious Education Classes were over, but before Vacation Bible School began. So we had three weeks to pick up furniture and donations from donors homes, then sort and organize it all before the sale on July 16, 2011. Luckily we had help from many of the parishioners of St Patrick’s as well as help from non-parishioners. Many of the people involved with Community Social Services as well as parishioners from the Most Blessed Trinity also gave us their time and efforts.
Even though it was a lot of work, we had some fun too! We raised over $14,000 for the House of Peace, which makes it all worthwhile.
Many thanks to all those who donated items. There were many beautiful items for us to sell. And thank you to all of those who helped us with the Rummage Sale as we could not have done it without each and every one of you.
