PADDLE TOURNAMENT BENEFITS HOUSE OF PEACE SHELTER
Thirty-one teams enjoyed a beautiful day of platform tennis and charity at the 2nd Annual Lake Forest Open, a national ranking tournament hosted at The Lake Forest Club.
The tournament roster included a healthy dose of top-level players. Creative shot-making and awesome athleticism were on display throughout the day! The spirit of eager competition was alive & kickin’ in the back draws. Legendary battles were waged late into the afternoon. . All entrants received a T-shirt, custom-designed by Marina Ohlmuller for this event, The shirt has become an Instant Classic!
House of Peace Director Aida Segura was on hand to enjoy the competition . Aida touched the hearts of all participants and volunteers, expressing gratitude for the relationship between our paddle community and The House of Peace families , which is fueled by energy ,support and inspiration.
Congrats to top-seeded Hallie Bodman and Liz Hayward, who defeated Wendy Shpiz and Laura Berendt in an exciting final.
A BIG SHOUT OUT !… to tournament committee Marina , Shannon & Stephanie and to Ann , Linda , Sue, Marcy, Mo, Karen and all our volunteers for providing a great day of paddle and fellowship. Wilson Sporting Goods provided the balls used for play again this year. Thanks to our friends at Wilson for supporting The House of Peace since 2011!
