2018 ROCK FOR PEACE – Gorton Center Lake Forest – April 7, 2018
ROCK FOR PEACE INSPIRES GIVING!
Our second Rock For Peace fundraiser was a smashing success! The SOLD OUT crowd filled the Gorton Center in Lake Forest. Guests mingled, enjoying cocktails and a delicious barbeque dinner by Barbeque Productions of Grayslake, amidst tables decorated with colorful hand painted rocks , created by HOP artists. Event sponsors and their guests hung out in the urban-chic VIP Lounge created by Barbara Bliss and Suzanne Myers. Following the moving video presentation about stories of transformation at the House of Peace , MC Jim Fitzgerald ignited an inspired groundswell of giving that electrified the crowd! Buoyed by the cheers of neighbors and friends, donors pledged over $90,000 to sustain our families on their journey of healing, reclaiming authority and creating abuse-free, sustainable households.
Ronnie Baker Brooks & his band, with musical guests Shemekia (queen of Chicago blues) Copeland and 3- time Grammy nominee Billy Branch kept the auditorium ROCKING with their high energy, blend of blues , soul and rock. For his finale, Ronnie & friends invited audience members to join them onstage to sing the iconic Sweet Home Chicago!
