It was November 14th, 2016. The Cubs had just won their first World Series ever! The atmosphere at College Park Athletic Club was electric for the 7th annual Play Tennis For Peace Carnival. Over 150 kids ages 8-18 , including 14 from the House of Peace, had a blast and raised nearly $20,000 for the House of Peace Shelter.
With rock music playing in the background, participants hit, ran, served, blasted targets, played dodge ball, competed at Baggo, tested their speed & agility, learned tae kwon do and won TONS of prizes!
This year’s lucky raffle winner took home a framed Kris Bryant jersey!!
This amazing event would not have been possible without the gift of time and talent from over 50 volunteers and the donation of a myriad of prizes by our generous local businesses.
Special thanks to Sunset Foods, Coca cola Refreshments and Tony’s Subs for once again providing food for the event.
